Job Purpose

• Provide valuable Subsea and Pipelines Systems Integrity input and assist in establishing the vision, strategy and the timely and effective implementation of the Subsea & Pipeline Integrity Management Programs (PIMS) and Emergency Pipeline Repair System (EPRS) for all pipelines throughout their life cycle. Oversee engineering studies, digitalization ensuring emergency pipeline repair systems are fit for purpose for current and new assets.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

• Addresses complex discipline specific and multi-discipline related problems and issues particularly in relation to multi diameter, multi product, CRA and CS subsea and pipelines systems, for the whole of assets, both offshore and onshore.
• Work within established company structures, policies, procedures, engineering standards and methodologies, including company safety standards.
• Develop work methods from several alternative options in accordance with established pipeline integrity management programs, procedures and professional standards including planning, execution and results assessment concluding pipeline risk assessment and recommendations to extend the remaining life of pipelines.
• Provide technical and commercial (related to contractor selection and budgetary estimations) advice in the field of pipelines integrity engineering.
• Provide technical input into extensive integrity programs for all assets with a wide pipeline portfolio (different designs, sizes, services, age) and ensure its integrity and fitness for purpose.
• Respond to pipeline related events, issues and/or incidents often requiring the team to conduct critical technical tasks requiring extensive engineering analysis based on available information, in a timely manner.
• Contribute to development of SPI annual budget for pipeline integrity activities and emergency pipeline repair system.
• Provide technical input into complex, critical Emergency Pipeline Repair system for the subsea pipeline, involving multiple types of equipment (including isolation plugs, subsea clamps, misalignment flanges, spare line pipe and subsea connectors) for a wide range of pipeline types and diameters.
• Developing advanced EPRS for cladded lines in Barzan and new projects which is unique and new in industry. The EPRS includes studies & scenarios, compatible tools, vessels, logistics and competent resources of technical and project management engineers.
• Provide technical input into pipeline engineering and discipline studies due to the unavailability of pipeline discipline engineering.
• Frequent presence in the field to support pipeline related activities, both Offshore and Onshore.
• Provide technical input into safely completing all the planned & discovery activities.

Key Job Accountabilities

Deliver Pipeline Integrity Management goals and objectives, focusing on continuous improvement, efficiency, and risk reduction.

Contribute to the development of the annual SPI budget, including EPRS, Engineering Studies and departmental training.

Perform as company Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS) technical expert. Support computerized systems (PVI) for Threat and Risk Management, Integrity Assessment, and performance Monitoring. Prepare and maintain short and long-term subsea inspection plans based on Company approved inspection strategy.

Prepare scope of work for subsea pipeline inspections including ILI, ROV surveys, CP surveys and Acoustic surveys. Ensure all UWI & ILI findings and observations are professionally assessed and classified. Generate technical recommendations and support implementation until satisfactory close-out.

Participate in regular risk assessments, anomaly prioritization, and mitigation planning to ensure asset integrity and regulatory compliance. Complete or defer RBI plans, including fitness-for-service assessments, Inspection Review Assessments (IRAs), inspection programs and 6 monthly pipeline status reporting. Support successful development of barrier management program, performance standards and maintain the integrity of relevant safety critical elements.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including shareholders and contractors. Develop effective collaboration with Corrosion, Inspection, Operations, and Maintenance teams to align integrity strategies and ensure seamless operations.

Review inspection scopes for ILI, ROV, CP, and MBES inspections. Ensure data accuracy, timely analysis, and effective use of results for integrity management.

Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of EPRS, ensuring readiness for rapid response to pipeline emergencies. Improve inventory tracking, contractor management, and response procedures to minimize downtime and safety risks.

Support major projects with asset expansions, ensuring new pipelines are designed with long-term integrity in mind. Support major project in the design and implementation of emergency repair systems for new assets.

Contribute to a safety-first culture within SPI, ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance. Conduct regular field-based visits to promote and report on safe practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, material, metallurgy, structural, civil or pipeline engineering.

Knowledge and/or Experience

• 8 years' experience in oil and/or gas sector with a focus on Pipelines Operations, Integrity inspection, corrosion and maintenance and/or design/construction.
• Knowledge of pipeline corrosion, failure mechanisms, corrosion controls, SHE standards and a proven track record in a subsea & pipelines integrity focused organization.
• Experience and knowledge of risk-based integrity management methods and strong understanding of Process Safety concepts.
• Competent level in PIMS, risk-based inspection, corrosion management and control, damage mechanisms, NDT techniques, and RCFA for upstream pipelines in sour service.
• Experience in using the international standards (ASME, API, NACE and DNV) in pipeline integrity management tasks.
• Knowledge in use of subsea pipelines integrity management tools, and inspection data management software (e.g., GIS, Pvi)
