Control Systems Engineering Specialist
Job Description - Control Systems Engineering Specialist
Advise and support Control Systems Engineering activities during EPC and startup phase until handover to permanent asset whilst ensuring project deliverables meet operation's expectations in term of safety, operability, reliability and maintainability over the facility design life cycle.
Reporting and Relationships
Reports to Head of Engineering.
Direct reports: None.
Internal
Regular contact with Project Management Team (PMT) and Operations departments.
Periodic contact with Engineering & Projects and HSEQ Group.
External
Frequent contact with shareholders Subject Matter Experts, EPC contractors, vendors, suppliers, and engineering consultants.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
Able to effectively influence project decisions based not only on CAPEX but considering OPEX for the project life cycle.
Ensure compliance with QG specifications, processes and procedures for the assigned projects.
Participate in review and provide technical inputs to designs and procedures for the implementation of approved field operations whilst mitigating new technology risks introduced by the project.

Key Job Accountabilities
1. Provide a variety of control systems engineering support to contribute to the division strategy and goals which includes design reviews, studies, failure analysis and advanced troubleshooting.
2. Develop and implement surveillance and administration programs for critical Control Systems of new projects to achieve high standards of reliability, availability and cyber security.
3. Define and document best practices within the area of expertise and recommend performance improvement initiatives.
4. Develop plans and work schedules to ensure effective completion of tasks and activities, meeting the section and division KPIs.
5. Provide technical input related to area of expertise to other disciplines and functions as per requirements to support overall business objectives.
6. Control and supervise the activities undertaken by contractors, consultants and service providers.
7. Guide less experienced engineers in implementing the company integrity and reliability systems.
8. Support and facilitate smooth completion of project tie-in requirements for all systems under the area of responsibility.
9. Maintain Issue Register identifying and resolving critical issues including new technology risks (under area of responsibility) which could impact new project Reliability, Availability and Cyber Security.
10. Support high risk commissioning activities for high complexities & large scale projects by (a) undertaking stringent system surveillance, (b) tuning and optimizing control systems, and (c) providing advisory supports to Operations and Maintenance.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Knowledge and/or Experience
8 years' experience in the area of specialization within Oil and Gas industry.
Expert level knowledge in Industrial Control Systems including DCS, Triconex, CCC, PLC's, etc.
