Contracts Lead


Job Purpose

* Lead contract administration, commercial management, and dispute resolution activities for T4&6 project contracts to protect Company interests, ensure contractual compliance, and support the successful delivery of project objectives.

Reporting and Relationships

* Reports to Head of Contracts.

* Direct reports: None.

Internal

* Frequent contact with Project Management Teams, Supply, Legal, Finance, Project Controls and Engineering functions.

* Periodic contact with other Major Project PMTs.

External

* Frequent contact with contractor's PMT.

* Periodic contact with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

* Provides contractual and commercial support for Train 4 and Train 6 projects executed through multiple contract strategies and an evolving scope of work.

* Interfaces with a broad range of internal stakeholders to support the efficient utilization of existing Company contracts and commercial arrangements.

* Operates within a complex governance framework requiring compliance with Company policies, procedures, and delegated authorities.

* Operates in a fast-paced project environment requiring effective management of multiple priorities, stakeholders, and contractual matters within demanding project schedules.

* Manages contractual issues, variations, claims, and commercial risks while balancing project execution objectives and the protection of Company interests.

* Ensure all activities undertaken comply with anti - trust and competition laws and the Company firewall policies and procedures.

Key Job Accountabilities

1. Lead contract administration activities to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and Company requirements.

2. Advise Project Management Teams on contractual and commercial matters to support informed decision-making and protect Company interests.

3. Review contractor correspondence, notices, variations and claims to support timely resolution of contractual issues.

4. Evaluate commercial and contractual risks to support effective project execution and risk mitigation.

5. Support negotiation of contract amendments, change orders, settlements and commercial agreements.

6. Coordinate with Legal, Supply, Finance and Project stakeholders to align contractual positions.

7. Monitor contractor performance against contractual requirements and support corrective actions.

8. Maintain contract records, commercial registers and reporting tools.

9. Support management and resolution of contractual disputes to minimize commercial exposure.

10. Prepare contractual and commercial reports, presentations and recommendations for governance reviews.


Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Commercial, Marketing, Sciences, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Law, Communication , Technologies, Mathematics, and Statistics.

Knowledge and/or Experience

* 8 years of experience in business related function or discipline, including 4 years in the Oil and Gas industry , and including 1 year experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractors / subcontractors/service/vendor personnel.

* Proven tract record in successful amicable resolution of contractual disputes.

* Experience in formal dispute resolution process eg. mediation, binding arbitration, litigation.

* Knowledge of Middle Eastern legal statues and civil codes prefared.

Technical and Business Skills

* A high level of proficieny in written and spoken English.

* Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced project environment with multiple competing priorities and challenging deadlines.

* Sound knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP, including procurement, contracting, cost tracking, and invoice administration processes.

* Strong contract administration and commercial management skills.

* Good understanding of contract risk allocation, variations, claims, and dispute resolution.

* Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

* Ability to analyze contractual issues and develop practical commercial solutions.

* Strong report-writing, presentation, and commercial reasoning skills.

* High proficiency in written and spoken English.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and contract management system.
