Construction Superintendent

(Mechanical/Piping)


Job Purpose * The position is responsible and accountable for all piping fabrication, installation, and testing activities pertaining to the scope of NFXP Onshore Project EPC-1 (LNG Trains, Utilities and Offplots) at the RLIC Site until hand- over to the Commissioning and Completion Teams, in accordance with the Completion Sequence.

* This position is located at the RLIC Site to supervise the execution of the fabrication and construction works, ensure compliance with the approved construction sequence and a seamless transition with the Pre-Commissioning, then Commissioning activities.

* The position shall interact daily with its EPC-1 Contractor counterparts as COMPANY and EPC-1 Contractor have "mirror" organizations. The position includes the review, comment and approval of construction related deliverables submitted by the EPC-1 Contractor.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

* Large, "one of a kind", complex LNG Project with large construction scope, quantities and direct man-hours involved.

* "Start with end in mind" Project, with the necessity to achieve a smooth and flawless construction execution and transfer to the commissioning team to safely secure first drop LNG from LNG Trains 8, 9, 10 and 11 with high quality and in line with the schedule and budget.

* Be inventive on construction execution and methods, bring experience from other large and complex projects, in particular LNG Plants.

1. Responsible and accountable to review, comment, and approve construction execution and related procedure specifications, and deliverables prepared by the EPC-1 Contractor.

2. Leadership and "one team" behaviour towards the EPC-1 Contractor and its Subcontractors to achieve Project objectives.

3. Proactive engagement with Field Engineering to influence technical decisions to better achieve flawless construction execution and transition to commissioning.

4. Work in a dynamic team environment that has high expectations for flawless Project Execution in safety, quality, cost and schedule performance, which requires the incumbent to demonstrate capacity to take the workload, work with accuracy, take initiatives, be inventive and have the ability to multi-task.

5. Work effectively within established procedures and participates in meetings and workshops (e.g. weekly and monthly meetings, 3D Model reviews, Constructability, Construction and Completion Sequence Reviews).

6. Strong ability to influence others, who are not in direct reporting line, to achieve Project objectives.

7. Bring solutions and provide support but not "micro-manage" or generate unnecessary work to the PMT or the EPC-1 Contractor.

8. Be inventive to bring technical and execution solutions that favor safe construction execution and transition to commissioning activities.

9. Facilitate periodic meetings with the Project Management Team and Contractors as necessary.

10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Construction Superintendent or Construction Division Manager and dealing with ad-hoc requests related to project operational and project logistics activities.


Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Sciences or Engineering.

Knowledge and/or Experience

* Minimum of eight (8) years' experience with large projects in Construction related disciplines (e.g., construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, etc.) in the Oil and Gas Industry, including one (1) year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel.

* Experience in Project Execution, with a strong background in fabrication, construction and management of large green field construction activities.

* Technical background as a Discipline Engineer, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Construction Superintendent or Construction Manager with solid Project Execution experience.

* Experience with multi-cultural type Projects.

* Experience with LNG Projects.

Technical and Business Skills

* Good organizational, planning, communication, and execution skills

* Computer literacy (MS Office, SAP)

* Developed coordination and planning skills

* Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with several organisational levels
