Construction Lead (Mech/HVAC/CP4N)


Job Purpose

* Lead and manage Compression EPC Contractor for safe and successful execution of CP Topsides Mechanical/HVAC scope to meet overall project objectives by insuring HSE, Quality, planning, effective and efficient delivery of NFPS Compression Project.

* In addition ensure the constructability of the design is consistent with established Project Engineering Darawings and industry processes and standards, effectively manage issues and resolution through strong interfaces with both company and contractor teams delivering full alignment of the Fabrication execution

Reporting and Relationships

* Reports to Head of Construction (CP4N).

* Regular contact with Other Engineering department and Support Organizations

* Regular contact with relevant Operations Organizations (e.g., Operations and Maintenance)

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

* Directly involved with the development of mechanical plans and execution of the plans overseeing Compression onshore scope responsibilities and duties safely, efficiently and effectively.

* Ensure that there is sufficient and balanced resources and technical expertise available to support the stakeholders, efficiency in resource deployment to support the Topsides fabrication activities and respect of planning.

* Major challenge for the role is maintaining strong interfaces between Company and Contractor and Contractor teams to ensure alignment and issue resolution.

1. Ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and regulations during fabrication process.

2. Manages and ensures successful execution of Topsides structures fabrication project components to meet prioritized objectives (Safety, Quality, Schedule, and others, as appropriate). Has a strong background in large rotating gas compressor (turbine driven) packages & large gas turbine generator units, also to have knowledge of HVAC systems which are part of offshore Electrical & instrument LER rooms

3. To supervise and control the activities of the Contractor/Subcontractors related to the Structure fabrication, Mechanical Completion to ensure that it complies with contractual requirements, project documentation and applicable International Standards.

4. To check the constructability aspects, as well as the compliance to all technical requirements, of the deliverables provided by the Engineering Team Contractor.

5. To review deviations to QatarEnergy LNG construction standards for comments with Contractors / Subcontractors input, to deliver a consistent dossier (documents, materials, procured and fabricated items, precom/com dossiers, as built …) for the construction activities.

6. Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.

7. Review Contractor's progress reports and reports for all the activities, highlighting critical problems, drifts and dysfunctions if any.

8. To Liaise with Contractors/Subcontractors for all structure subject, MC,Pre-commissioning and Commissioning to ensure the Contractors/Subcontractors progress follow up and reporting.

9. To Participate to Risk Assessments kick off meetings and Pre-Job Meetings, technical meeting etc. as required in accordance with Company's referential.

10. To participate to REX and Lessons Learned for the Company.

Minimum Requirements


Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree in Sciences or Engineering

Knowledge and/or Experience

* 8 years specific involvement in project execution with previous leading roles in mechanical/HVAC scope within an EPC contract execution environment in the Oil & Gas Industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel. Additional relevant work experience may be substituted for technical education.

* Good knowledge of Project Execution procedures and field management and techniques including fabrication, welding, lifting, mechanical testing and completions.

* Experience with Oil and Gas companies, contractors, service companies, or heavy construction companies.

* Experience working in large scale operating organisations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface etc.

Technical and Business Skills

* Knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria related to major fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up, as applicable to the project scope.

* Knowledge of offshore facilities and structures, onshore facilities, or yard operations as applicable to a project scope.

* Knowledge of execution methods and risks associated with sour gas and LNG production facilities.
