Construction Specialist (Lifting & Scaffolding)

Job Purpose
* Reporting to Head of Construction, the Construction Specialist is responsible for managing the lifting and scaffolding activities, including protection of all project materials from preparation stage to ensure objectives are safely met within the approved scope, budget and schedule.
Reporting and Relationships
* Reports to Head of Construction (LQ8S).
* Direct reports: None
Internal
* Frequent contact and collaboration with other disciplines Leads & Superintendents in the project.
External
* Frequent contact with Contractor's Lifting & Scaffolding Representatives.
* Frequent contact and engagement with site personnel throughout execution.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
* Directly involved with the development of lifting & scaffolding plans and execution of the plans overseeing Compression onshore responsibilities and duties safely, efficiently and effectively.
* Ensure that there are sufficient and balanced resources and technical expertise available to support the stakeholders, efficiency in resource deployment to support the material related activities and respect of planning.
* Exercise control over workmanship ensuring conformance to relevant codes, standards and specifications.
* Analyze data effectively and report key issues to site management team.
* Ensure that there are sufficient and balanced resources and technical expertise available to execute lifting & scaffolding scope.

Key Job Accountabilities
1. Ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and regulations during fabrication process.
2. Manages and ensures successful execution of Topsides project lifting & Scaffolding works to meet prioritized objectives (Safety, Quality, Schedule, and others, as appropriate).
3. To supervise and control the activities of the Contractor/Subcontractors related to the lifting & Scaffolding, to ensure that it complies with contractual requirements, project documentation and applicable International Standards.
4. To check the constructability aspects, as well as the compliance to all technical requirements, of the deliverables provided by the Engineering Team Contractor.
5. To review deviations to construction standards for comments with Contractors / Subcontractors input, to deliver a consistent dossier (documents, materials, procured and fabricated items, precom/com dossiers, as built …) for the construction activities.
6. Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
7. Review Contractor's progress reports and reports for all the activities, highlighting critical problems, drifts and dysfunctions if any.
8. To Liaise with Contractors/Subcontractors for all lifting & scaffolding subject, to ensure the Contractors/Subcontractors progress follow up and reporting.
9. To Participate to Risk Assessments kick off meetings and Pre-Job Meetings, technical meeting etc. as required in accordance with Company's referential.
10. To participate to REX and Lessons Learned for the Company.
Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree in Sciences or Engineering
Knowledge and/or Experience
* 8 years overall experience with Large Projects in Construction related to lifting & scaffolding in the Oil & Gas Industry, including strong experience in a specialist role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel. Additional relevant work experience may be substituted for technical education.
Technical and Business Skills
* Experience with Oil and Gas companies, contractors, service companies, or heavy construction companies.
* Knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria related to major fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up, as applicable to the project scope.
* Knowledge of offshore facilities and structures, onshore facilities, or yard operations as applicable to a project scope.
* Knowledge of execution methods and risks associated with sour gas and LNG production facilities.
* Experience working in large scale operating organizations in Operations,Projects, Subsurface, etc.
