Part A: Job Specification


Job Purpose


  • Responsible for mechanical equipment (static equipment, equipment packages and rotating equipment) engineering activities for Compression COMP3 Project
  • Ensuring that mechanical equipment engineering activities comply with project requirements and specification.
  • Through effective collaboration and management of engineering contractor and stakeholder to ensure ontime project delivery.


  • Key Accountabilities

    (Duties include but not limited to)


  • Responsible to ensure Contractor deliver a complete mechanical equipment engineering deliverables during EPC execution
  • Ensures the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfillment of the project quality requirements and the contractual obligations.
  • Responsible to check, review and appraise all mechanical equipment technical documents (specifications, calculation notes, drawings, etc.) developed by Contractor are in compliance with project scopes and requirements and identify potential risks to project if any.
  • Manage Contractor's mechanical equipment disciplines resources and to ensure work completion on time.
  • Monitors / reports actual progress and ensure mechanical equipment engineering are inline with procurement plan to meet the requirements of Required on Site (ROS)
  • Participate in various project's workshop such as Equipment Criticality, Hazardous Operations (HAZOP or HAZID etc) reviews
  • Assists with QGMS expectations as required especially Risk Assessment, Facility Design and Construction and Management of Change
  • Tracking and reporting of lessons learned in defined area of responsibility
  • Works in a highly visible project environment with large capital expenditures and significant schedule execution pressures
  • Works in a dynamic environment that has high expectations for flawless project execution in safety, quality, cost and schedule performance which requires the incumbent to demonstrate accuracy initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills

    Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

    • Provides visible safety leadership through active participation in the NFPS Compression EPC Project Safety Program
    • Reviews the detailed design developed by the Contractor and verify compliance with QatarEnergy LNG standards and objectives. Understand and communicate the requirements of Company to Contractor
    • Efficiently translate Company requirements and data into an efficient delivery from the Contractor and verify compliance with Company requirements, standards, specifications and instructions
    • Manage the Contractor in the safe delivery of the detailed design scope
    • Monitor the progress and delivery of mechanical equipment works meeting project schedule and milestones.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

    Knowledge and/or Experience

    • 15+ years of experience in mechanical equipment discipline with at least five years of lead discipline experience in major capital project and offshore project preferably.
    • Possess knowledge on static equipment, rotating equipment as well as equipment packages design development.
    • In-depth understanding of various equipment design Codes and Standards
    • Added advantage if possess past experience with equipment fabricator / manufacturer
    • Experience with EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry
    • Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds
