Contracts Lead


Job Purpose

* Provide specialist knowledge and guidance in developing, supporting and executing complex and high value EPC contract for North Field Production & Sustainability Project.

Reporting and Relationships

* Reports to Head of Contracts

* Direct reports: None

Internal

* Frequent contact with the Business Manager (Shared Resources).

* Frequent contact with Project Management Teams across the NFPS organisation.

* Regular contact with other departments including EP&S (in Major Projects), Legal, Finance and Supply.

External

* Regular contact with other EPC Contractors when necessary and requested. Occasional interaction with affiliate companies and shareholders.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

* Responsible for interpreting and analysing the complexities of critical tender and contract documents ensuring accurate, clear and comprehensive responses are provided to clarifications, logical and commercially astute recommendations are made to management and actioned effectively to meet project deliverables.

* Major challenges of this role are (1) understanding the key project drivers to ensure delivery within the agreed timeframe (2) operating in a pressure environment with short deadlines to complete activities and/or assessments related to contract administration.

Key Job Accountabilities

1. Preparation of tender packages and coordination of tendering process with Supply, and other

PMT functions as required. 2. Formulate tendering and contracting activities including comprehensive engineering,

technical and commercial reviews of scope of work documents received from various project teams to evaluate and mitigate any potential risks to the Project.

3. Review technical bids for complex and high value services, leading to the establishment of suitable contracts to facilitate project execution.

4. Provide specialist expertise in contracting processes ensuring the latest financial, technical and SHEQ standards are embedded in the documentation.

5. Examine scope of work and commercial documentations to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory, company and local standards.

6. Participate in contract audit, review records for accuracy and conformance to standards and address any audit findings for compliance with established procedures.

7. Steward the EPC Contractor's activities with respect to contract administration ensuring that all affected parties are familiar with contract terms and conditions, contract provisions, coordination procedures, contract objectives and overall job requirements. In addition coordinate any required communication with EPC Contractor to resolve warranty, payment and milestone issues.

8. Take the lead in preparing contractual responses to the EPC Contractor. 9. Facilitate close-out by ensuring contract obligation has been fulfilled and invoices have.

been paid and that no outstanding claims exist and all deliverables have been received and approved.

10. Ensure the timely close-out of all claim oriented correspondence to avoid potential claims.


Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Commercial, Marketing, Sciences, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Law, Communication, Technologies, Mathematics, and Statistics

Knowledge and/or Experience

* 8 years experience in business related function or discipline, including 4 years in the Oil & Gas Industry, and including 1 year experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractor/subcontractors/service/vendor personnel.

* Experience in handling reimbursable procurement for major EPC contract would be preferred.

* Good technical knowledge in reviewing and preparing technical contracts.

* Computer literacy (MS Office) including working knowledge of business software programs
