Job Description - Welding Specialist
Job Purpose
* Provides welding engineering support for North Field Expansion (NFXP) Offshore Project, ensuring that all technical requirements (e.g., project specifications, project materials, welding specifications, data sheets, etc.) fully comply with project deliverables and standardised processes. Additionally, provides Functional Safety design support to NFXP pipeline engineering manager ensuring all aspects are delivered to the highest standards.

* Reports to NFXP Offshore Welding Lead.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
* Provides extensive knowledge and understanding on the requirements of ECPI, communicates and efficiently translates Company requirements and data into an efficient delivery from the contractor. Collaborates across disciplines (including Process, Piping, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Pipeline, Jackets, Umbilicals, HSSE and Risk), and monitors the progress and delivery of the engineering sections of the work scope

1. Ensures that the Contractor's onshore, offshore, pipeline and subsea welding integrity comply with the Contract requirements including codes and standards. Provides guidance to the contractor to promote compliance.
2. Plans and schedules the materials, welding and package engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with operational policies, standards of business conduct and project management system.
3. Supervises and ensures that the Contractor's functional safety of onshore facilities (offshore scope) engineering and pipeline materials and welding comply with the Contract requirements including codes and standards. Provides guidance to the contractor to promote compliance.
4. Participates in key design workshop and ensures that pipeline materials and welding package functional safety design recommendations are correctly implemented, and actions closed before the end of EPCI (lessons learned, value engineering, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, engineering criticality assessment, etc.).
5. Supervises the engineering interface between the onshore facilities (offshore scope), pipeline engineering, and the following teams: Operations, Drilling, Well Management, Jacket, Topsides from the pipelines perspective, the onshore project team.
6. Supports the materials and pipeline related purchase orders with the EPC Contractor and system Vendor in accordance with the roles and responsibilities given in the contract to ensure safe and seamless integration of the systems without any disturbance to the existing operating facilities.
7. Supports NFXP pipeline engineering manager in monitoring the contractor's progress on delivery of the required documents in the piping and Pipeline disciplines.
8. Coordinates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with respect to the disciplines involved in delivery of the packages related to pipelines materials and welding and ensures endorsement of materials technical deviations to Company specifications when required.
9. Ensures compliance with management of change procedures for changes in the contractor's design or deviations from the company directives.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Knowledge and/or Experience
* 8 years' experience in relevant engineering roles, including 4 years in the Oil & Gas Industry.
* Previous knowledge of Greenfield engineering and execution required.
Technical and Business Skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT.
* A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
* Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications
* Good knowledge of subsea systems, onshore pipeline, subsea pipeline, spools and risers materials and welding engineering.
