Senior Control Systems Engineer


Job Purpose

* Provide in-depth level support to control systems Engineering activities to contribute to department objectives in meeting Company strategy. Ensure the adequacy of the control systems for maintaining safety, profitability, availability and reliability purposes.

Reporting and Relationships

* Reports to Lead of Control Systems -Eng. Support/ Lead of Control Systems Engineering.

Internal

* Frequent contact with other Engineering disciplines, Projects, Operations Onshore and Offshore, IT, Supply and Maintenance departments.

External

Frequent contact with vendors and contractors.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

* Operates in technical environment with interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

* Required to contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks whilst providing expertise in specialised area.

* Knowledge of internal company procedures such as MOC, Project Management System, supply, and others as applicable.

Financial Dimension * As defined for this job level in the Delegation of Authority and/or approved budget.

* Ensure all activities undertaken comply with anti - trust and competition laws and the Company firewall policies and procedures.


Key Job Accountabilities

1. Provide control system engineering support to contribute to the division strategy and goals.

2. Support obsolescence team to create and define long term upgrade plans for proactive, optimal and cost-effective obsolescence management of critical control systems.

3. Perform control system (DCS/SIS/Plc, etc.) administration activities such as (user access

control, advisories review, OEM technical case follow-up, OEM service contract, etc) to

achieve high standards of reliability, availability.

4. Document best practices within the area of specialization, implement performance improvement initiatives and review & validation of control system procedures

5. Manage plans and work schedules to ensure effective completion of tasks and activities are meeting the section and division KPIs.

6. Carry out control systems Management of changes, Feasibility studies, and projects. Confirm quality milestone completion as per company policy and procedures following company & international standards.

7. Control and supervise the activities undertaken by contractors, consultants, and service providers.

8. Contribute to defining and implementing the Company integrity and reliability programs such as RCFA, Equipment Strategy for PM. Contribute to HAZOP, SIL studies.

9. Conduct trainings, support competency development plans, and keep abreast of new technologies in the field of specialisation.

10. Based on assignment act as Subject Matter Expert and/or as Technical Authority in area of specialization. Participate in review of high-risk technical issues, specifications and deviations.


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in engineering.

Knowledge and/or Experience

* 6 years' experience in an oil and gas environment.

* Experience in control systems such as Foxboro, Emerson, Honeywell, Triconex, CCC, PLCs and applications such as AMS, APC, PI systems, etc.

* Knowledge of relevant international standards such as IEC, ANSI/ISA and API RP and their application is necessary.

Technical and Business Skills * Fluent in English language (demonstrated verbal and written skills).

* Computer literate, and competent with a variety of engineering software tools.
