Construction Superintendent (Sulphur Plant - Greenfield)


Job Purpose

* The position is responsible and accountable for all construction activities pertaining to the scope of EPC-4 activities at RLIC Site through hand-over to the Commissioning and Completion Teams in accordance with the Completion Sequence. The position shall interact daily with its counterpart at EPC-4 Contractor on the premise that both Company and EPC-4 Contractor have "mirror" organizations. The position includes the review, comment and approval of construction related deliverables submitted by the EPC-4 Contractor.

Key Job Accountabilities


1. Responsible and accountable to review, comment, and approve construction execution and related procedure specifications, and deliverables prepared by the EPC-4 Contractor.

2. Implement/Lead "work as a team" behaviour and attitude towards EPC-4 Contractor as its Subcontractors to achieve Project objectives.

3. Evaluate/Review during the detailed design and engineering phase to influence on the

technical decisions to better achieve flawless construction execution and transition to commissioning.

4. Analyse and develop ways to support a multi cultured work force to achieve project goals.

5. Facilitate meetings to help improve and identify ideas for productive work.

6. Strong ability to influence others who are not in his direct control to achieve Project objectives.

Bring solutions and provide support but not generate "micro-management" or unnecessary works to the Team and/or the EPC-4 Contractor.

7. Provide ideas to bring technical and execution solutions that Favor safe construction execution and transition to commissioning activities.

8. Facilitate periodic meetings with the PMT and contractors as necessary.

9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Construction Superintendent or Construction

Division Manager.

10. Assist with ad-hoc requests related to project operational and project logistics activities.


Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Sciences or Engineering.

Knowledge and/or Experience

* Minimum 8 to 12 years' experience with Large Projects in Construction related disciplines (e.g. construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, etc.) in the Oil & Gas Industry, including one (1) year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel.

* Experience in Project Execution, with a strong background in fabrication, construction and management of large greenfield construction activities.

* Experience with Oil and Gas companies, contractors, service companies, or heavy construction companies.

* Knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria related to major fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up, as applicable to the project scope.

* Knowledge of execution methods and risks associated with sour gas and LNG production facilities.

* Experience working in large scale operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, etc.

* Experience in major Construction Projects (including greenfield work) with total capital expenditure >USD$1B

* Recent experience (last 5 years) on QatarEnergy LNG Projects, working in Ras Laffan Industrial City and QatarEnergy LNG permitting system is an advantage, but not a pre-requisite.
