Job Purpose

Construction Superintendent HVAC shall provide leadership to execute the site activities for ONSHORE BUILDINGS & INFRASTRUCTURE COMPRESSION PROJECT - COMP9 which involves Onshore buildings.

  • OCC (Onshore Collaborative Center)
  • OLB (Onshore Logistic Base) and associated brownfield works

He is responsible to provides daily management and oversight of the EPC Contractor and its sub-contractors for their scope of work within the COMP9 Project for HVAC services in the Process and Non-Process Buildings construction.

This position is located at RLIC Site to provide construction expertise and monitoring to ensure compliance with the approved construction sequence and a seamless transition with the pre-commissioning, then commissioning activities.

Appraises the performance of the EPC Contractor in terms of safety, quality, and schedule.

Prepares and provides routine verbal and written progress reports to the Head of Construction.

Key Accountabilities

(Duties include but not limited to)

1. The Superintendent shall be experienced in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems.

2. Review the Contractor's and/or Sub-Contractor's construction deliverables related to HVAC, such as Method Statements, construction procedures, etc. as per Company's specification and contract requirements.

3. The HVAC Superintendent scope of work will cover 2 or 3 individual buildings, and extended hours will be required on site with excessive walking, climbing, and standing.

4. Shall have experience in an LNG plant of the installation of HVAC systems within the Process and Non process, Commercial buildings, explosion proof buildings, fire stations, Data centres, Sub Stations, Instrument houses, main control building.

5. Responsible for ensuring the Contractor/Sub-Contractor team implements and sustains its obligations and responsibilities for the HVAC project deliverables.

6. Coordination experience with all HVAC systems within Electrical rooms, Mechanical rooms, and providing end user with an accessible maintainable building.

7. Experienced with HVAC Duct work fabrication, coatings, insulation, instrument placement, wiring and installation of the various HVAC controls instrumentation.

8. Involvement in coordination of reflected ceiling plans, Coordination, and space planning for maintenance access in Network rooms, Electrical and Mechanical rooms for the HVAC requirements throughout the buildings.

9. Report of the HVAC construction activities, progress, areas of concern and mitigation actions to the Head of Construction, as well as participate in the weekly construction discipline review meetings, constructabilty reviews, workshops, etc.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

The Superintendent will be responsible for construction HVAC activities on the Project for the Process and Non process buildings. He will be responsible for safety, quality, and schedule in his area of responsibility and supervise relevant construction personnel.

Well experienced in extreme weather conditions especially heat related conditions and required to work on site for extended hours at a time to include excessive walking, climbing, and standing.

Must be able to multi-task between the various disciplines as required at site.

Must be able to interface with the Contractor, Sub-contractor and 3rd party vendors (if any) and manage the execution of the HVAC works, and equipment installation within the areas of responsibility.

Holds bachelor degree or equivalent in Engineering/Construction.

Knowledge and/or Experience

Minimum of 15 years broad experience in all project phases, with at least 10 years experience in Oil & Gas mega project in HVAC installation in industrial buildings i.e. Administration buildings, Control Rooms, Warehouses with machinery, Master Control buildings, etc.

Working experience in Qatar and Ras Laffan Industrial City is preferred, and brownfiled experience is considered as plus.
