Job Purpose
Responsible for overseeing Civil/Structural engineering discipline and
FEED/EPC Contractor in delivery of all aspects of civil/structural design to ensure technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule. Ensures technical requirements such as project specifications, data sheets, procedures, etc. developed during EPC fully comply with project requirements.
Reporting and Relationships
Reports to Head of Civil & Structural Engineering Direct reports: None Internal Frequent contact with various project teams and departments within PMT
(NFE/NFS/NFW PMT etc), RLIC, and Operations Engineering in addressing civil structural issues requiring interface.
Periodic contact with RLIC, and Operations Engineering in addressing civil structural issues requiring effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to foster collaboration
External Frequent contact with FEED Contractor, EPC Contractor/subcontractors,
Vendors, Specialist consultants. Periodic contact with and project stakeholders at site including asset owners
Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
This position is dynamic and requires high commitment and responsibility to ensure all technical activities associated with the civil and structural engineering discipline, and all third parties such as vendors, consultants, sub- contractors etc are executed to NFW Offplot Project's specifications and QELNG requirements.
Major challenges for this role include (1) effectively guide FEED and EPC contractor, including vendors and subcontractors and pre-comm/comm team to produce timely deliverables to meet project milestones (2) maintaining constructive working relationship with FEED/EPC contractor, including vendors and subcontractors to ensure delivery and execution of work scope in accordance with project specifications/requirements. (3) maintaining good relationships with stakeholders (e.g., Operations, quality, engineering, construction) to ensure alignment of civil structural work execution
Position is Doha based initially and then subsequently in Project Site Offices in Ras Laffan, Qatar.

Key Job Accountabilities 1. Demonstrate personal SHES leadership and excellent SHES behaviours at all times. Perform as a
safety leader through setting and exhibiting the highest safety standards of behavior and actions to the workforce.
2. Ensure civil and structural engineering activities are conducted in accordance with local regulatory requirements, codes and standards, project specifications and industry practices. Ensure that Contractors/Subcontractors are conducting engineering design in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and safe practices.
3. coordinate, analyse discipline issues for resolution and resolve civil structural discipline issues timely to ensure engineering designs meet NFW Offplot Project's expectations and objectives.
4. Ensure approved design recommendations and programs are utilized by the Project to improve design integrity, reduce inefficiencies, and maintain high safety and risks standards.
5. Steward Contractors' civil structural design and execution activities in accordance to specifications, verify adequacy of Contractor resources and personnel competency for the tasks, employment of appropriate tools including use of approved technical software.
6. Provide Civil Structural engineering input to other engineering disciplines, construction, procurement, Quality etc as necessary. Support FEED, commissioning and system completion activities and make appropriate recommendations to management on civil structural discipline matters.
7. Carry-out technical evaluations, including risk-based evaluation of complex engineering issues, resolution of electrical, telecom & Instrumentation related matters with significant project execution and/or commercial impact to ensure optimum outcomes to meet technical and execution expectations.
8. Lead Civil & Structural interface coordination with NFW Onplot, NFS off plot, RLIC or any third party, as required, during FEED/EPC.
9. Maintain full project chronology of civil and structural engineering design revisions for use in contract administration.
10. Monitor discipline schedule and progress while maintaining design integrity and quality requirements through the management of change and specification deviation processes
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Knowledge and/or Experience
8 years' experience in Engineering roles, including 4 years in the Oil & Gas Industry, and including 1 year experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractor/sub-contractors/service/vendor personnel.
Experience with Oil & Gas Companies, EPC contractors, sub- contractors, vendors or service companies involved in the oil and gas industry.
Experience with sour service gas and LNG facilities (for Onshore) and large Offshore Platforms / Pipelines (For Offshore).
Experience in berth design and Seabed dredging is an advantage. Brownfield engineering and execution knowledge Experience in large tank foundations design Knowledge in geotechnical, foundation design, drainage design,
precast concrete, steel structures, building design and dynamic equipment foundation design
Blast Design is an advantage.
Technical and Business Skills
Fluent in written and oral English. Strong leadership skills, personal integrity, experience guiding and
assisting contractor teams. Strong analytical, organisational, coordination and planning skills. Good written and verbal communications skills and ability to interact /
interface at all levels. Good mediation skills including conflict resolution, problem-solving,
creative thinking, influencing and empathy Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, etc. Deep knowledge of industry codes, standards and practices for civil
discipline
