Job Specification


Job Purpose

  • Manages the Topsides Engineering activities for North Field Expansion (NFXP) Offshore Project, ensuring technical requirements (e.g. project specifications, data sheets, etc.) fully comply with project deliverables and standardised processes and to support NFE Offshore Division Engineering Manager ensuring all aspects are delivered to the highest standards.

Key Accountabilities

(Duties include but not limited to)

  • Ensure that the Contractor's Topsides Engineering team comply with the Contract requirements including codes and standards. Provide guidance to the contractor to promote compliance.
  • Plan and schedule all engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with operational policies, standards of business conduct and project management system.
  • Participate to key design workshops and ensure that all design recommendation are correctly implemented and actions closed (Lessons Learned, Value Engineering, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, engineering criticality assessment, etc.).
  • Supervises the Engineering interface between the Topsides, Onshore Facilities (Offshore scope) and Pipeline engineering and the following teams: Operations, Drilling, Well Management, the Jacket, the pipelines from the topsides perspective, the Onshore Project Team.
  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts with respect the disciplines involved in delivery of Topsides Engineering, and ensures endorsement of Technical deviations to Company specifications when required.
  • Ensure compliance with management of change procedures for changes in the contractors design or deviations from the company directives.


Reporting and Relationships


  • Reports to: NFXP Offshore Engineering Division Manager.



  • Other Engineering Departments and their SMEs.


    Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

    Provide extensive knowledge and understanding on the requirements of FEED & ECPI, communicating and efficiently translating Company requirements and data into an efficient delivery from the contractor. Collaborate across disciplines (including Process, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Piping, HSSE and Risk), and monitor the progress and delivery of the engineering sections of the workscope.


    Minimum Requirements


    Technical and Business Skills

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT.
    • A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
    • Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications
    • Good knowledge of electrical, instrument, telecom, piping and mechanical equipment

    Qualifications

    Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent, however any qualification, technical or knowledge requirements may be waived through relevant work experience.


    Knowledge and/or Experience

    • 15+ years' of relevant experience as Engineering Manager, in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry and having a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.
    • Previous knowledge of Greenfield engineering and execution required.
